Un-named Tragedy

I was at the beach on Saturday. It was a beautiful day. Gorgeous weather, the water was perfect, and the company was quite lovely.

A friend and I were walking back to the blanket from the water - we weren't really up for swimming and didn't join the rest of the group out in the waves - when we saw someone being carried onto shore.

He was not breathing - the lifeguards hurried over. And they attempted first aid. In my opinion - and I'm a professional by no means - they definitely seemed as though they weren't moving fast enough and could've been much more proficient in their work. They started pumping him and a whole lotta water started coming out.

I'm not sure what the final outcome was. No one knew the guy and no one was apparently with him. It is actually really sad.

How many people each year die without anyone knowing? Or die without having anyone to love them?

It really just got me thinking.
